Mrs. Coulter 7th and 8th Grade Reading2012-2013 This will be my seventh year here at South Eastern Middle School, and it is guaranteed to be an exciting year! I love to learn, and I consider each day an opportunity to learn something new. It is my hope that my students and I will learn together, and that I will be able to instill that love of learning in them as well. However, this will be my ninth year teaching in Pennsylvania. My previous position was as a PSSA reading and remedial reading teacher in South Park, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. I have earned a Bachelor's in Print Journalism from Duquesne University, a Post-Bachelor's degree from Point Park University in Secondary Education, and a Master's in Industrial Labor Relations from West Virginia University. Furthermore, I have completed courses for certification in English as a Second Language. My current certifications include English, Communications, and Reading Specialist. Before teaching, I spent 10 years working in the public relations field as a director and writer. Since moving to the York area, I am astounded by the beauty of the South Eastern area. My husband, son, and I enjoy fishing, hiking, camping, and just about any outdoor activity. The parks, lakes, and trails will certainly keep us active and busy. I also am an avid reader, and I have been known to get into lengthy book discussions. It is my philosophy that books open up the world to us, and we can go anywhere through them.
